[Bookish Lifestyle] Heroines I’m Thankful For

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you’re all having a wonderful Thanksgiving. If you haven’t already, I would definitely check out the Barnes and Noble Young Adults Thanskgiving Post to find out which book I’m thankful for.

When I was asked to write that post, the editor didn’t give me a choice of writing about anything other than one book in particular but if I’m going to be honest, it’s the strong female characters in the picture below that I’m most thankful for.

It was a dreary Monday

night during my sixth year of schooling. My family had been snowed in and I had just finished the fourth Percy Jackson novel. The Battle of the Labyrinth had left me all kinds of hungover and I couldn’t help but scour the internet for Percabeth fan art before delving into the last book. That’s when I stumbled across this picture.

There was a sort of subdued elegance captured within the picture that I couldn’t deny. Annabeth Chase was the only character with whom I was familiar but I just had to know who the other women in the picture were. If they were anything like Annabeth, I knew I would grow to love them.

I quickly got my hands on Wings, Shiver, and The Fault in Our Stars. Each book was more rewarding than the last and the strong female characters made them all the more worthwhile.

This picture and the women in it, are what I’m most thankful for this year. What are you most thankful for? Drop me a comment below.
