[Bookish Lifestyle] The 2017 Book I’m Most Thankful For Unaired Post

Hey guys, I wrote this post for Barnes & Noble but unfortunately there weren’t enough contributors to the list so it was cut. Here is my post in all it’s unaired and unedited glory.

The book I’m most thankful for this year is Love and First Sight by Josh Sundquist. I read this book back in January and totally fell in love with Will Porter and all his awkwardness. Before reading the book, the bias of the sighted world never occurred to me. I’m not going to lie, I take my perfect vision for granted. Will, who was born blind has never had the same privilege. I describe things in colours and shapes that Will would never understand because he’s never seen them. Perspective and distance, concepts important to my life are non-existent in his. And yet Will Porter is just as happy as me if not happier. Beauty and wealth don’t matter to him because he can’t see. I am so grateful to Sundquist for writing this book because it’s a memorable one which I will be eternally grateful for.

If you want to check out the original review I wrote for Love and First Sight you can click here to check it out on the Barnes & Noble Teen Blog.

I hope all of you had an amazing Thanksgiving! What are you most thankful for this year?
